Evan and his dad enjoyed watching the Florida - Arkansas game. Luckily, the Gators won (or it would have been a bad evening in the household). With the USC loss...could the Gators play in Arizona for the national championship? We'll see!
Earlier in the day, the Theta girls held their annual Chapter Leadership Workshop. The girls presented me with a special gift for Evan...his own mini-Ben jersey. I'll post a photo later. It was great working with this old group of officers!

11/12/06: Day 121 (Sun.) I Missed The Steeler Win!
Today was one looong day! My Theta girls held their nominating committee meeting to create the slate of new officers. In the past, these meetings last a few hours...but this time we set a record I hope will never be broken...12 hours. Thanks to my right-hand-lady Catherine for sticking it out with me!
Since I was sequestered away all day, I didn't get to watch the Steelers finally win a game!

Pictures from Grand Convention

O.k...I know this isn't a post about the little guy...so bear with me. Two weeks prior to Evan deciding to join us, I was in San Antonio for the Kappa Alpha Theta Grand Convention. Wow, so lucky he decided to wait two weeks. All that estrogen during those 4 days probably scared him into staying in anyway. ;-) It was a fun time, from the picture, you can tell my hair was loving all that humidity (ick)!
The picture is of all the Permanent Alumnae Secretaries (PASs) who were in attendence. I am the PAS for my college chapter and all that means is I keep track of everyone's addresses. My chapter is relatively easy to keep track of since we have young alumnae (who are almost all on e-mail) and we are a newer chapter (we only have about 350 alumna).
The ladies in the picture are PASs from all over the country and keep track of these collegiate chapters: Purdue, North Dakota State, Ohio Wesleyan, U of South Florida, Denison, Penn State, UNC, Loyola Marymount, and USC (oh, and me keeping track of Washington & Jefferson College).
Oh...and for Joey P...I didn't get any good film of sorority girl pillow fights or anything like that! I know you'll be disappointed! ;-)
This picture is of me with the officers who attended Convention (Rachel, President; Jen, VP Education; Kristin, Convention Awards; and fellow advisory board member Marge)

Greek Awards
For those of you who just aren't into the whole Greek thing, then skip this post! Last night I attended the University of Arizona's Greek Awards night. Representatives of all the sororities and fraternities on campus are there to accept awards based on various categories (i.e. highest GPA, service events, etc...).
In the past our UofA girls have not fared too well at these awards. A lot of time it's how well you word the award application, not necessarily what you did. Needless to say Chi Omega almost swept the sororities again this year. BUT, we did get awards in all the categories we applied for: 1st Place "New Member Programming Award"; and 2nd Place "Chapter Management Award".
I was extremely honored by the chapter to be nominated for "Outstanding Chapter Advisor", which I won. It's a shame that the award goes to just one person when I need to share the award with Catherine, my right-hand chickie. Thanks Cat, for being such a help this past year! Sorry, we couldn't find you a "date-able" fraternity advisor at the ceremony; there were some cuties in the 19-to-22-year-old catetgory though (um, a little young I think). Next year, the award goes to you!!

Race For the Cure
On Sunday, I participated in the Tucson 5K Race For the Cure in Reid Park. It was a great event as usual. Our "Team Kappa Alpha Theta" consisted of members of the Advisory Board, Tucson Alumnae Chapter and students from Amphi Middle School. Our Beta Delta girls also were a part of the "Greeks for the Cure" team which won an award for having the largest participation increase. Our team had the yellow shirts, the girls wore the pink shirts for the Panhell team (the girls thought our yellow shirts were cuter)!
